However the economy has been seriously affected by the ever deteriorating political atmosphere, each and every South African are hoping for possitive leadership and change to honest government in the very near future.

As soon as this happens things will start to normalise again.

Your hoists are not caompetitive at all, we can buy from SA manufacturer the following:

2 Ton Air Hoist with 3 meter lift for 3180 UDS and

3 Ton Air Hoist with 3 meter lift for 3650 USD.

On top of that we enjoy a 20% "resale discount" from the manufacturer, so our price delivered to our stores are as follows; 2 Ton unit with 3 meter lift = 2544 USD and 3 Ton unit with 3 meter lift = 2920 USD.

I am surprised that your prices are so expensive, other products we import from China are much cheaper than local manufacturers and suppliers, can you please investigate this .!!

Yes, you are correct.

Our price is middle level in Chinese market, even we have one kind cheaper but still higher than yours.

We once investigate Chinese market and found the cheapest one for 2 ton is 2419 USD, 3 ton is 3387 USD.

Our other hoists like manual and electric is exactly as what you said, is cheaper and sold to SA well.

Pleas look at the following prices in RED, this is the price you quoted me converted into SA Rands at the ROE of R 10.65 = 1 usd, if you compare these prices with the prices i sent you you will see that your prices are expensive and also your price is ex works so I must still add Shipping and Clearing costs as well as import/customs duties to import the goods into SA. Only then can I put a markup on, so the end price will be more expensive than the Turner Morris products, therefore we will not be able to sell them. 
Please investigate the situation and reply asap.

I am afraid that the 2% discount does not even pay for the documentation of the shipment, 
I must land the goods in South Africa at a price that when I put mu markup on it must still be cheaper than Turner Morris products. 
SO if TM sells at R 450.00 their markup must be at least 40%.
TM will land it in SA "All costs paid" ie (Freight, Insurance, customs duty etc) at R 270.00 each or USD 25.35 ea. Now your price of 316.34 (usd 29.70) is UDS 4.35 more than TM Price.
The facts are in RED above.!!!
We will not be competitive at the price you quote us.!!
Please re-look the pricing situation.!!

I can not give you a target price since we have not imported from China before and I dont know the shipping rates. I also dont know the customs duty and other documentation costs.
But what I do know is that we must land the 1 Ton 3m Chain block in our stores at USD 25.35 ALL COSTS PAID,!!
Your price for the same unit is USD 29.70 ex works!!! then I still have to pay all shipping and other import costs, which will put us way out with our price.!!
Please remember that TM also imports their Chain blocks, I think it also comes from China.

So Yang if you investigate properly you should be able to offer me the goods at the same price that another Chinese supplier supplies Turner Morris.

If they can do it so can we.!!

Please investigate more.

I am afraid that we are still not competitive, I have reconfirmed the TM prices and are 100% sure of our facts that TM lands their products at the prices I quoted in my last mail, ie 1T, 3M Chain Block for USD 25.30
If we can not compete with TM we are wasting our time.
With the prices you offer how do you think or suggest I can get the interest of the customers to buy your product at such a high price compared to TM.?
The TM and your products are the same, and if we do not have at least a price advantage to offer our customers we will not be able to sell your products.
I am stating once again that TM has a supplier in China at affordable prices and quality, we MUST "Beat or compete" them.
I suggest you investigate this issue further on your side.
Please also note we will not be selling hundreds of units per month in the beginning, because TM has established themselves well in the market.
We need to get TM out of the market and our product INTO the market, and that takes time and money.
At the prices you offer there is no incentive for us to promote your product.
We can not promote and finance your product at our cost and risk.!
If you want to enter the South Africa market you will have to reconsider your strategy, financial commitment and risk.
We certainly hope you will take serious consideration of the situation.

I dont think it is a good idea to sacrafice the quality of your products by that using cheaper material in order to be competitive. If the quality is not right we will cease our existance from the market.
I have given you the price of TM landing their products "All costs paid" in SA before but I will give it again. for the 1 Tom, 3 meter Chain block it is USD 25.30
