The principle of phase change is to use 1 phase, also called “split-phase” capacitor motor or use VFD then change 3 phase to 1 phase, the advantage of using VFD is more reliable and safety, but the disadvantage is the price is much higher than with capacitor motor. While considering the high efficiency and reliability of single phase, it is recommended for customers to use VFD to achieve the exchange of 3 phase and single phase. Also, it can automatically keep the output voltage stable when input voltage fluctuating. The primary difference between single phase and three phases lie on voltage that received through each type of wire.
All in all, this kind of single phase electric chain hoists can meet the needs for a large segment of industry. The convenience of the electric chain hoist is the difference between an easy load in, and a larger labor call under many circumstances. The starting torque of single phase induction motor is low, whereas the starting torque of three phase induction motor is high. 4. Limit switch
The equipment of limit switch is aimed at ensuring the motor stop automatically. With up and down limit switch, it can prohibit the chains from exceeding for safety. In case of sudden emergency or the overload risk, the limit switch works well to protect the hoists from damage and for ensuring the safety.
5. Electric control panel|Electric system
Allow easy access for field maintenance, single speed hoists are reconnecting able for 115V/230V on single phase electric chain hoists and 208V-230-460V on three phase electric chain hoists. With controls installed in enclosure, the control transformer and standard power supply is available. 6. Single phase motor
It adopts the single phase electric motor. This series are totally enclosed fan cooled heavy-duty single-phase capacitor start induction motors, which are available for driving small size machine equipment. The motor are designed as fan cooled, totally enclosed, squirrel cage type and noted for their novel design, compact structure, beautiful modeling, high efficiency, large torque, excellent starting performance, etc. The motors coils are special manufactured by hand with unique processing technic and they have super quiet voice and long service life with easy heat dissipation. These series motors can be widely used as driving equipment of various machineries, same as, machine tools, blowers, pumps, compressors, transporters, agricultural and food processing. A single phase motor has just one wire wound on all the poles of the stator while in three phase construction, 3 wires that supplied by a sinusoidal varying A.C, are distributed equally and wound on the poles of the stators. The one phase motor works on the 1-phase 220V AC supply only, which requires two wires to complete the circuit that are live/mains & neutral for return path.
There are several types of single phase motors as follows
①Spilt phase induction motor
②Capacitor start induction motor
③Capacitor start capacitor run induction motor
④Shaded pole induction motor
The 3-phase motor works on such as 3-phase 415V AC supply only which requires 4 conductors consisting as 3 mains & one neutral. Due to this, the maintenance is difficult and the network is complex but it has high efficiency and reliability. Therefore they are mostly used in industry for doing jobs which requires high power.
7. Chain bag|Chain container
It adopts Japan FEC80 ultra heat-treatable aluminum alloy chains and the chain bag shall be light and durable. One of the advantages of chains is the highest quality of anti-dust and corrosion resistant. It can protect chains from fatigue with highest safety chain bag for chain storage and hot forging hooks and the various sizes are available. The chain container is standard equipment and is molded with thick polypropylene material or fabricated from steel to securely contain the chain and chain lubricant. Furthermore, optional containers are available for long lift applications.
8. Side magnetic braking device
Side magnetic braking system is designed for ensuring the instant brake in order to guarantee the safety and avoid the emergency when the power is off. And with the mechanical braker and dual braking system, it has much more for safety. The internal brake unit for inverters of power 0.75KW-18.5KW has been deployed and the external braking resister can be connected outside for quick stop. The cone type brake is operated by a powerful pull rotor supported by magnetic force. The brake is adjustable to extend the life of the brake lining.
9. Inverse phase sequence protecting device
The use of inverse phase sequence protecting device is controlling the circuit in case of wiring error while power on. Equipped with the friction clutch--- an overload-protection device idling the motor when overload and upper limit switch, the two function prevent the single phase electric chain hoists' body and load or load chain from being damaged. In addition, the upper limit switch will activate and stop the hoists motor in the up direction preventing unnecessary clutch wear when the load is lifted to high hook.
10. 24V/36V device
This device is to prohibit the emergencies from the leakage in the switch. The power supply can provide all kinds of voltage that can be customized, ranging from 220V-660V.
11. Fault protection
The equipment is designed to for protecting from current, over voltage, over temperature, overload emergency and especially phases failure. Thanks to this, the single phase electric chain hoists are more reliable and safer. With long life friction clutch, it can protect single phase electric chain hoists from damage and prevent over winding.
12. Gear/nuts/screws/bolts
The gear are made of alloy steel and experienced through heat treatment. Except gears, there are nuts, screws, bolts which are processed by most advanced technic so that they are sturdy, durable and quite neat for use. Besides, the wheels and rotors are professionally processed with highest precision. The trolley is adjustable for a range of flange widths. 13. Load sheave and chain guide
Thanks to full floating chain guide, it assures proper engagement of chain on load sheave. It features 5 pockets for better distribution of the load and smoother operation. The deep-groove pockets fully support the load chain, reducing vibration and chain wear, and provide a true vertical lift.

A. Single phase
Single phase also called ‘residential voltage’ is more widely available in residential settings that most homes use it (it’s the power present in wall plugs),relies on two wire conductors to distribute power, creating a single sine wave (low voltage). Single-phase wire has three wires located within insulation with two hot wires and one neutral wire providing the power. Each hot wire provides 120volts of electricity and the neutral is tapped off from the transformer. The type of circuit using hot and neutral wires is why it is commonly called a split-phase circuit. The single-phase wire has the two hot wires surrounded by black and red insulation, the neutral is always white and there is a green grounding wire.
The motors are driven by pulsating torque just like a pulsating shower head, experiencing more interruptions in electrical flow and requiring capacitors and start switches with extra parts that need to be monitored. The single phases are widely applied in small business, homes, non-industrial businesses, residential settings, small ponds, With fractional or low horsepower units (less than 5 HP), which is able to supply ample power for most smaller customers,
A single phase motor draws significantly more current than the equivalent 3-phase motor, making 3-phase power a more efficient choice for industrial applications

B. Three phase
Three phase is most commonly used at commercial/professional sites relies on three coils mounted on the rotor at 120 degree intervals that are less expensive to operate than single phase power units, which produce three sines wave voltages (high voltage). The three phase power is supplied by four wires with three wires carrying 120volts of electricity and one neutral. Two hot wires and the neutral run to a piece of machinery requiring 240volts of power. Compared to single phase, three-phase motor is more efficient and with a smooth and continuous flow of power, some convert 97% of electrical energy into useable mechanical energy.
The motors will experience rotation issues if installed improperly, the three phases are widely applied in commercial or professional sites, larger ponds, large businesses, industry and manufacturing, With any high horsepower unit (5 HP or more), It’s used universally for power distribution.
Imagine one man pushing a car up a hill; this is an example of single-phase power. Three-phase power is like having three men of equal strength pushing that same car up the same hill. The three hot wires in a three-phase circuit are colored black, blue and red; a white wire is the neutral and a green wire is used for the ground.
But you need to check with your local company to see if it is available for three phase power since it isn't available at all locations and costs will be much higher when installing three phase power, Discovering which type of wire is being used is easily done.
